"He's on the move!" Williams yelled excitedly. He was seated in the center console chair in the operations center of the Jupiter Group building in downtown Panama City. Fealty had spent the last hour showing him how everything worked. Isa was sitting at the workstation to Williams's right, where Anna usually sat before she disappeared earlier that day.

The LoJack tracking chip continued to report Mason's car's location. Currently, it was speeding back from Gamboa, having turned onto Madden Road, which would take him to a bypass corridor and ultimately to the Pan-American Highway. He chose a route that avoided city traffic and stayed clear of any choke point they could have set for him.

Fealty and Thomasito stood in the room, dressed in black field clothes. Their shirts and pants were both made from lightweight Kevlar. Not thick enough to stop a bullet, but strong enough to avoid a knife slice if not a direct stab. They wore black jungle boots and field harnesses that held multiple weapons, knives, and firearms.

Isa had purchased some "Star Light" headgear that provided excellent night visibility without any electronics. It would be easy to carry it along with their other equipment.

"I can't think of anything else to give you guys," Isa said. "Jack and I are up to speed on how everything works here. Let's do a sound check with the satellite receivers. We'll just leave the line open. It'll cost a fortune, but that's okay; we have several fortunes to spend. The batteries should last about twelve hours. You each have two extras; that should be more than enough. If it looks like you will be out there longer, we'll go down to just one receiver to double the time available."

Thomasito looked focused; Fealty looked nervous. It was one thing to talk tough, another to actually put the combat gear on and head off after a murderous commando.

"Should we try and catch him in a car or use a helicopter?" Fealty asked.

They all watched the blue circle slowly navigate the roads. After a few more minutes, it was clear that Mason was heading south to the Dorian Gap, where Lasher and Sharp were.

"I think we're ready," Isa responded. "Let's call Dirk and see what he wants us to do."

They had just finished their ascent up the hill, past several ancient-looking stone formations, and reunited with the main Wargandi group, about fifty people. There were five warriors counting Mateo, then an equal number of women and children.

"This is amazing," Sharp said. Her mouth was open; she slowly turned, taking everything in. While still under the jungle canopy, the rise was angled such that there was a view out to the horizon through the trees. They were clearly near the top of what was once a high pyramid structure. Not entirely different than a lot of the ruins that had been discovered farther north in the Yucatan Peninsula, but there were some differences. The rocks and stones used in the construction here were more significant, more comparable to the ancient ruins found south in Cusco, Peru.
